Challenge:

The design systems used across product teams are inconsistent, leading to inefficiencies and design discrepancies. Some teams use the Primer Design System, some created their own system based on the PDS, another team transitioned from the PDS on Blazor to Angular, and one team leveraged Material Design. These multiple frameworks create inconsistencies across the entire platform which causes issues for the user experience, creating design gaps, and complicating scalability.

Solution:

The entire product team is aligning to one single source of truth for the front end framework. The design system will be used by both the designers and developers. PPG’s new design system will be a mix out of the box functionality from PrimeNG and our own customizations to provide the look and feel of PPG.
